The government has released Rs67.5 million to 15 local units in five districts affected by the Bhotekoshi flood to strengthen search, rescue and immediate relief operations.

The funds were released from the Disaster Management Fund following a decision by the Executive Committee of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority on August 27, according to authority chief executive officer Dharmaraj Upreti.

In Rasuwa, Uttargaya Rural Municipality received Rs7.5 million, Gosainkunda Rural Municipality Rs10 million, Kalika Rural Municipality Rs3 million and Aamachhodingmo Rural Municipality Rs2 million.

In Nuwakot, Bidur Municipality received Rs15 million, Belkotgadhi Municipality Rs7.5 million, Kispang Rural Municipality Rs2.5 million and Tarkeshwar Rural Municipality Rs5 million.

In Dhading, Rs3 million each was released to Galchhi and Siddhalek rural municipalities, while Gajuri and Benighat Rorang rural municipalities received Rs2 million each.

Gandaki Rural Municipality in Gorkha received Rs2 million, while Devghat and Aanbukhaireni rural municipalities in Tanahun received Rs2 million each.

The government had earlier released Rs10 million each to Rasuwa and Nuwakot and Rs5 million to Dhading for search, rescue and immediate relief operations.
