Four killed as landslide buries two houses in Rolpa

Four people were killed when a landslide buried two houses in Phalbang of Sunchhahari Rural Municipality-2 in Rolpa district on Thursday night, police said.
The victims were two men and two women. Their identities had not been established as of Friday morning.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Panchakumar Bakhu said a police team had reached the site and was collecting details about the incident.
The landslide struck a day after another deadly slide in the district. On Wednesday night, a landslide buried 11 houses in Kotalabara of Uwa in Thabang Rural Municipality-5, killing 10 people. Three others who were buried remain missing.
Days of heavy monsoon rain have increased the risk of landslides in several parts of Rolpa, raising concern among residents. Police have urged people in vulnerable areas to remain alert and move to safer ground if necessary.
A security team led by Chief District Officer Ganga Bahadur Chhetri has been in the affected areas since Thursday to coordinate the response.
