RSP secures 15 seats, leads in 101 constituencies
Party defeats veteran Congress and UML leaders, dominates Kathmandu.Post Report
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won 15 seats in the House of Representatives while leading in 101 constituencies, signalling a significant shift in Nepal’s political landscape.
The party has unseated several well-known leaders from the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
Kathmandu district remains an RSP stronghold, with the party victorious in eight of the city’s ten constituencies and leading in the remaining two.
The 15 winning candidates so far are: Santosh Rajbanshi (Morang-4), Rubina Acharya (Morang-6), Manish Jha (Dhanusha-3), Ranju Neupane (Kathmandu-1), Raju Nath Pandey (Kathmandu-3), Pukar Bam (Kathmandu-4), Sasmit Pokharel (Kathmandu-5), Ganesh Parajuli (Kathmandu-7), Biraj Bhakta Maharjan (Kathmandu-8), Dol Prasad Aryal (Kathmandu-9), Pradeep Bista (Kathmandu-10), Uttam Prasad Paudel (Kaski-2), Bina Gurung (Kaski-3), Suresh Kumar Chaudhary (Banke-1) and Kanhaiya Baniya (Rupandehi-4).
Vote counting continues across constituencies nationwide.
