A car plunged into Phewa Lake in Pame area of Pokhara Metropolis-6 in the wee hours on Saturday, killing a 24-year-old man.
Police identified the deceased as Adit Gurung, originally from Phedi Khola Rural Municipality-5 in Syangja and currently residing in Masbar, ward 7 of Pokhara Metropolis.
According to Armed Police Force (APF) 24 No Battalion, the car lost control and fell into the lake near Gairako Chautara at around 2:10 am. A 21-member rescue team of the APF, including divers, was deployed to the site.
The victim was pulled out unconscious and rushed to Pokhara-based Gandaki Medical College, where doctors pronounced him dead at 4:34 am.
Investigation is underway into the incident, said police.
