Voter numbers up by 915,119 since the last polls; more polling locations added nationwide.Post Report
The Election Commission has published the final voters’ list for the March 5 House of Representatives polls, confirming that 18,903,689 citizens are eligible to vote. The updated tally shows an increase of 915,119 voters compared to the 2022 elections.
“The number of male voters has reached 9,663,358, women 9,240,131, and 200 are listed under the “other” category,” the commission said in a press release on Saturday. The male voters have increased by 522,552 since the last polls, female voters by 392,552, and other voters by 15.
The EC said the update was made after amendments to the voter registration law allowed registration in October and November. Details of all citizens turning 18 years old by March 4, 2026, were incorporated into the final roll.
“The final voters’ list has been published upon completing the procedures set out in the Voters’ List Act 2016 and the Voters’ List Compilation Procedure 2021,” the election body said in the press release.
The EC has also finalised polling arrangements nationwide. A total of 10,967 polling stations and 23,112 polling centres have been designated—75 more stations and 885 more centres than in 2022.
Elections for 275 seats–165 constituencies under the first-past-the-post system and 110 under the proportional representation category–are scheduled for March 5, 2026.
The full final voters’ list, along with individual voter details, has been uploaded to the commission’s website for public viewing, the election body said.
