Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured when two motorcycles collided at ward 1 of Chhatradev Rural Municipality, Arghakhanchi, on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred when a motorcycle of Tara Belbase collided head-on with another motorcycle Suman Sunar coming from the opposite direction while heading towards Durga Phant, said Police Inspector Jhalak Prasad Sharma.

Both riders—21-year-old Belbase of ward 5 of Panini Rural Municipality, Arghakhanchi, and 35-year-old Sunar of ward 6 of Chhatrakot Rural Municipality, Gulmi—died while undergoing treatment at a local hospital located at the Arghakhanchi-Gulmi border.

Deepak Koirala, 18, of Maidane, and Suraj Sunar, 44, of Daugha, who were pillion riders on the respective motorcycles, sustained serious head injuries. They have been referred to Lumbini Medical College in Prabhas, Palpa, for further treatment, police said.
