Nepal’s men’s senior cricket team will participate in the Top End T20 Series, a tournament organised in the Northern Territory of Australia, from August 14 to 24, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) revealed on Friday.
The series is an annual event in Aussie land which was inaugurated in 2022. The upcoming tournament will be its fourth edition.
According to CAN, their opponents for the 2025 edition are yet to be revealed. “The full schedule and participating teams…will be announced in the upcoming weeks,” they said.
Nonetheless, CAN has seen the series as an important preparation for the squad aiming to secure one of the three spots from Asia-EAP Regional Qualifiers for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
“The team will play a minimum of six T20 matches at DXC Arena, TIO Stadium and Cazaly’s Arena,” read the statement by the CAN. “The series will offer our Nepali players a chance to compete in Australian conditions against high-quality opposition, providing invaluable experience.”
The series has been seeing participation not only from local clubs. For instance, the previous edition in 2024 saw participation from Bangladesh High Performance XI and Pakistan ‘A’.
CAN, in its annual calendar for 2025, had stated a tour of the national team to Australia in August alongside pocket camps in India during the same month.
