Rastriya Swatantra Party appoints Burlakoti as party general secretary, Jha spokesperson
The party had been operating with acting officials after relieving Mukul Dhakal from his post on June 9 last year.
Post Report
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has reshuffled its central leadership roles on the occasion of its third anniversary.
A central committee meeting held on Saturday promoted Kabindra Burlakoti to the post of general secretary, who had been playing the role of acting general secretary. The meeting also appointed Manish Jha the party’s spokesperson, having previously served in an acting capacity.
The party had been operating with acting leadership after relieving its founding general secretary and spokesperson, Mukul Dhakal, of his responsibilities on June 9 last year.
He was accused of incompetence, indiscipline, indecent and chaotic conduct, and violating party rules.
Dhakal was later expelled from the party on August 17, 2024.
Also, the party is being led by Acting President Dol Prasad Aryal after the court sent party chief Rabi Lamichhane to jail for judicial custody in April in a case of cooperative fraud and organised crime.
Former home minister Lamichhane has been accused of being involved in embezzling millions of rupees from various cooperatives in five districts–Kathmandu, Kaski, Rupandehi and Parsa districts.
