CIAA sues 249 people in connection with Tikapur land scam

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Thursday filed a corruption case against 249 people in connection with the Tikapur City Development Committee land scam.
The anti-graft body has accused them of selling the land of the development committee by producing fake receipts.
Former chairs of the committee Netra Prasad Joshi, Lalit Tamrakar, Dhijraj Regmi among others have been named in the charge sheet filed at the Special Court on Thursday.
It has been revealed that the land of the committee in Tikapur-9 had been plotted by producing fake receipts and sold with ill-intention. The CIAA has accused former chairs, officials, and employees of being involved in the crime.
As per the charge sheet, fake documents were produced to transfer the land to the names of individuals, in contravention of the provisions of the Town Development Act, 1988 and the Urban Development Directive, 2004.
