Former crown prince Paras Shah discharged from hospital
The former royal has a history of heart-related ailments.Post Report
HAMS Hospital discharged former crown prince Paras Shah on Saturday after improvement in his health.
The former royal was admitted to the Mandikhatar-based hospital on Friday and kept under 24-hour observation after he complained of discomfort in his heart.
Dr Mukunda Sharma discharged Shah at 9am as his health parameters were normal on Saturday, according to Sachi Regmi, senior director at the hospital.
The former crown prince has a history of heart-related ailments. In 2019, Shah underwent treatment at Norvic Hospital in Thapathali following a heart attack. In 2015, an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, a special device powered by a battery that helps treat irregular heartbeats called arrhythmias, was successfully placed in his heart.
He also survived a major cardiac arrest in 2013 while he was in Bangkok.
In September 2007, he had undergone an angioplasty operation in Kathmandu’s Norvic Hospital after suffering a mild heart attack.
On Friday, former King Gyanendra Shah, former Queen Komal Shah and former Crown Princess Himani Shah reached the hospital to take stock of his health.
