Five DIGs of Nepal Police promoted to AIGs

A total of five deputy inspector generals of Nepal Police have been promoted to additional inspector general.
A Cabinet meeting on Monday morning promoted deputy inspector generals Basanta Kunwar, Tek Prasad Rai, Deepak Thapa, Shyama Lal Gyawali and Kiran Bajracharya to the additional inspector general.
Kunwar is currently deployed to the Madhesh provincial police office, Rai in Lumbini, Thapa in Bagmati, Gyawali in Koshi while Bajracharya is serving at the Nepal Police headquarters.
The Promotion Recommendation Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs had recommended their names for promotion.
They were recommended for promotion after Additional Inspector Generals Bishwo Raj Pokharel, Mukunda Acharya, Arun BC, Rabindra Bahadur Dhanuk and Puja Singh retired due to the age limit.
