Another complaint has been lodged with the Election Commission against Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, the vice-presidential candidate of the Janata Samajbadi Party.
Mamata Jha, a candidate of the Janamat Party, registered the complaint at the Office of the Election Officer at New Baneshwar on Saturday, questioning the qualification of Yadav to become a candidate.
According to Amrita Kumari Sharma, information officer at the Office of the Election Officer, Jha, in her complaint, has demanded to elect a female Vice President, arguing that a male has been elected the President already.
Earlier, a CPN-UML lawmaker had filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Yadav.
UML lawmaker Mahesh Bartaula, who had seconded the candidacy by the party’s official candidate Astalaxmi Shakya, filed an application claiming the candidacy by Yadav is against the constitutional and legal provisions.
As per the election timetable, the commission will decide on the complaints by Sunday noon.
