Nepali Congress central committee member Pradip Paudel has been elected House of Representative member from Kathmandu-5.
Paudel defeated CPN-UML senior vice chairman Ishwar Pokhrel, the constituency’s incumbent, by a margin of 5,065 votes.
Paudel garnered 15,237 votes while Pokharel was able to secure 10,172 votes.
Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Dr Pranaya Shamsher Rana finished third in the election race with 4,179 votes.
