Anti-corruption body tells police to suspend 16 personnel

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Wednesday instructed Nepal Police to suspend 16 personnel, including an inspector stationed at the Border Police Post in Timure, Rasuwa.
The personnel allegedly seized 422gm smuggled gold and kept it for themselves, the anti-corruption body said.
The commission said in a statement that it has written to the police headquarters to suspend Inspector Khem Raj Nepal, Sub-inspector Bhoj Bahadur Sen Oli, Assistant Sub-inspector Ram Sharan Kumal and Head Constables Ram Sharan Rimal, Purusottam Khatri, Ramkaji Lama and Gopi Bahadur Lo Tamang.
The commission also asked police to suspend constables Shiva Nararya Chaudhary, Yubaraj Kharel, Bhabilal Rumba Lama, Ram Chandra B.K, Rita Chaudhary, Manoj Ale, Chhkyu Dolma Moktan, Tara Bahadur Praja and Office Assistant Hari Bahadur Shrestha. Deputy Inspector General Shailesh Thapa Kshetri, spokesperson for the Nepal Police, said the personnel concerned will be suspended.
