Nepali Congress (NC) leader Minendra Rijal has alleged that the left alliance is gradually becoming authoritarian. He accused Prime Minster KP Sharma of being arrogant.
Addressing an interaction organised by Province 5 in Butwal on Monday, Minister Rijal said that PM Oli has been spending his days by criticising others instead of working for the development. He advised that the government with a majority should carry out its responsibilities by being accountable to people instead of showing arrogance.
“This is not the time to criticise others but to work,” leader Rijal said. Saying that some of the works undertaken by government are against democracy, leader Rijal urged the government to stride on the path of democracy and do exemplary work.
He further said that it was time for Nepali Congress to play a constructive role to bring the government on the path of democracy. He said the tradition of making decision based on majority and minority should come to an end.
Leader Rijal, who is also a NC central leader, said the NC leaders should put aside their differences and move ahead in unity. He advised party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to hold consultation with party leaders while making appointments in the party. “No unilateral decision would be acceptable, appointment to key party positions should be done based on agreement,” he noted.
