Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has urged the political parties to resolve constitutional hurdles and the differences over electing the National Assembly.Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has urged the political parties to resolve constitutional hurdles and the differences over electing the National Assembly.
Thanking officials deployed for the federal parliamentary and provincial assembly elections at the Okhaldhunga district headquarters on Tuesday, Yadav said the Election Commission was unable to present to the government the final election results under the proportional representation (PR) category of the House of Representatives as some legal obstacles had not been removed.
“Political uncertainty and constitutional hurdles are seen at a time when we have to submit the final poll results to the government, the President and the province chiefs. I hope these issues will be resolved soon,” said Yadav.
CEC Yadav said that the federal and provincial elections were held peacefully and successfully. The international community has hailed the elections and welcomed the poll results, he claimed.
