A bridge over the Babai River has collapsed on Monday.
Constructed two years ago by the Pappu Construction, the bridge that connects north-south, east-west highway caved in before its handover due to incessant rainfall.
According to Chief District Officer (CDO) Bishnu Bahadur Thapa, following the collapse, vehicles heading towards north-south have been stranded.
The construction of bridge was completed despite locals saying that it was constructed with weak foundation.
Around 100,000 locals have been displaced due to floods trigged by torrential rainfall in Babai, Karnali and Man Khola since Friday night.
Three persons had died and three went missing in the floods.
Two of the deceased have been identified as Sauni Tharu, 70, Govinda Tharu, 60, of Thakurbaba Municipality-2 and Rajendra Chaudhary, 10, of Barbardiya.
Police said that Rajendra Chaudhary, 10, of Barbardiya has been missing in the floods.
CDO Thapa said that Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel are carrying out rescue operation.
It has been learnt that Nepal Army chopper would distribute relief materials to the flood-affected people from today.
