CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed the party leaders and cadres to mobilise for the party’s promotion with the objective to make it the biggest party in upcoming third phase local polls slated for September 18.
Leader Dahal said so while addressing the party cadres of province 2 during an election training programme organised in Janakpur on Monday.
“Our party has its orientation towards federalism, republic, proportional representation and identity-based politics yet people voted us as a third party,” said Dahal. He said the extreme greed of Maoist leaders and cadres for power and money led to the CPN (Maoist Centre)’s poor showing in the election.
“Maoist leaders seem to be following contractors and brokers instead of public. Our organizational structure has been destructed,” said the former prime minister.
Dahal urged the party’s senior leaders to stay in Madhes untill the election day. He called on party cadres and leaders to extensively participate for the promotional campaign targeting the election saying Maoists revolt spread roots from eight districts.
Leader Dahal, who came down heavily upon CPN-UML, said: “People, who voted anti-federal, anti-secular and regressive party like UML, have no reason not to vote us. We seemed to have failed to communicate our achievements to public.”
Senior Maoist leaders Narayan Kaji Sherstha, Ram Bahadur Thapa, among other Maoist Centre ministers and leaders, addressed the programme.
The Maoist Centre has intensified its election promotions in province 2 after displaying weak performance in the two phases of local polls completed in remaining six provinces.
