The Janakpur High Court on Wednesday delivered its verdict in the 2009 murder of journalist Uma Singh.
A division bench of Janakpur High Court justices Narayan Prasad Pokharel and Chandra Bahadur Sadu convicted three accused in the murder case and handed life in prison along with confiscation of entire property.
Nemlal Paswan, Umesh Yadav alias Swamiji and Sing’s sister in law Lalita Devi Singh were convicted in the murder.
According to legal advisor to Dhanusha chapter Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Rajkumar Mahato, Janakpur High Court upheld the earlier verdict of Janakpur District Court.
Singh, who worked for local Janakpur Today newspaper and a local FM radio station, was murdered at her rented room in Janakpur on January 11, 2009.
