Police on Monday recovered a Self-Loading-Rifle (SLR) and its ammunitions from Jaljala forest in Jumla district.
A police team found an SLR, its magazine and 25 rounds of bullets hidden at an apple garden in Dhapa-6 of Sinja, Police DSP Bishnu Hari Koirala said.
“Last week we had arrested five persons in possession of a sophisticated weapon and ammunitions from Burmamadichaur-3,” said Koirala.
Police said those arrested were involved in robbing the people heading to pick Yarchagumba, and traders from China.
Five days ago, five persons were held with a Short Machine Gun (SMG), a Chinese pistol and ammunitions used in those firearms from Bumramadi Chaur in the district.
Police have intensified their operations in the district for the past one month after the rise in incidents of robbery and burglary.
