35 Nepalis including minors held on Indian border

Indian Sashastra Seema Bal men rounded up 35 people, including 13 children, from the Nepal-India border in Mahottari on Wednesday evening. They were on their way to India seeking employment opportunities.
A majority of them are from Mahottari, Dhanusha and Siraha districts.
According to Assistant Commandant of 51st SSB Battalion Shaswot Pandey, 12 of them had got suspicious documents while two were caught with the national ID card of India.
The children are aged between 14 and 17 years. It has been learnt that they were taken to India for work.
SSB’s Pandey said the agents had provided them and their families assurances of good jobs in India.
According to sources, the minors have been handed over to an organisation in Sitamadhi, India, while the others were sent to Bihar Police for necessary action. “Police in Bihar have taken action against six people on the charge of human trafficking,” said Inspector Laxman Khadka of the Armed Police Force.
