Air pollution measurement centre in Chitwan

Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Agni Prasad Sapkota launched the new system named Chitwan National Park Air Pollution Quality Centre amidst a function held here on Sunday.
The Centre was established to help support the measurement of air pollution causing hazards to human and wild life in the area.
Minister Sapkota hailed ICIMOD and the Trust for establishment of the Centre which he added would contribute to conserving the bio-diversity and support in scientific research and data collection. The marginal number of communities living in and around the forest and the environ will also benefit from the establishment of the Centre.
On the occasion, Secretary at Forest and Soil Conservation Ministry, Udaya Chandra Thakur, underlined the government’s determination in conserving the forest and the environment and said it was ready to lend any support to the newly established system.
ICIMOD Director General Dr Davind Molden said the organization was working in a systematic way to conserve the environment of the Hindu Kush region. RSS
