Two protestors have died in police firing in Janakpur during demonstrations against the proposed state demarcation in the federal set-up on Friday. Around 2 dozens of protestors have been injured in the clash. Some of the protestors are said to be seriously injured.
Jamunia’s around 18-year-old One Niku Kumar Yadav, aged around 18, of Jamunia, and Sanjay Chaudhary, 35, of Kadam Chowk died in Janakpur-1 Mills area after the clash with police. Yadav sustained bullet in his head. His body is still lying on the road at Mills area, while Chaudhary’s body is in hospital.
Sporadic clashes took place between the police and protestors after the latter defied the curfew order and staged demonstration at various places. The local authority had clamped curfew in the district from 6 am on Friday in view of the planned demonstration by the agitating Symukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha.
