The Nepal Police has decided to provide Rs one million each to the family of six policemen killed in Tikapur carnage.
According to Nepal Police spokesperson Kamal Singh Bam, the police organisation took decision to the effect on Thursday.
Six Nepal Police personnel and two Armed Police Force personnel died during the protest of the Tharuhat/Tharuwan Joint Struggle Committee in Tikapur—the headquarters of Kailali district on August 24.
SSP Laxman Neupane, Inspector duo Balaram Bista and Keshav Bohara, Head Constable Janak Negi and Constables Lokendra Chand and Laxman Khada are Nepal Police personnel who were killed on the day.
Earlier, Cabinet had announced to promote the deceased Nepal Police officials by a post.
