The deceased has been identified as a seven-year-old Tausin Ansari, son of Jainul Ansari of Siswakataiya-4 in the district, according to the District Police Office.
Sun-Inspector Tej Bahadur Bhattrai said that the incident took place when the child had gone for swimming at the pond nearby the house.
Police said that the family members found the child found floating in the pond while carrying out search for him after he did not return home till late night.
The body has been brought to District Hospital, Jaleshwor, for postmortem. RSS
