Chief at the DFO Ganesh Raya said the forest office recently lodged the case as several sal trees were found to be cut down with the involvement of the office bearers, going against the existing legal provision.
The case was filed against the chairperson of the
committee Chhatra Bahadur Tamang, vice-chairperson Saraswati Rimal, secretary Gyanendra Bahadur Thakuri and six others demanding Rs 1.25million in fine and a year jail term each.
