NOC hikes fuel prices
Petrol price increased by Rs2 per litre, diesel by Rs4.Post Report
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced an increase in fuel prices, citing a revised tariff from its sole supplier, the Indian Oil Corporation.
Petrol prices have been raised by R2 per litre, while diesel and kerosene rates have increased by Rs4 per litre each. According to the NOC, the revised rates will take effect from midnight on Friday.
Consumers in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal will now pay Rs167 per litre for petrol and Rs160 per litre for both diesel and kerosene.
The prices in Surkhet and Dang are Rs166 for petrol and Rs159 for diesel, whereas in Charali, Biratnagar, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj, petrol is priced at Rs164.50 and diesel at Rs157.50 per litre.
Similarly, the price of aviation fuel for domestic carriers has increased by Rs6 per litre, while the price for international carriers in Kathmandu has risen by $43 per kilolitre.
The NOC adjusts its fuel prices based on changes in rates supplied by the Indian Oil Corporation, which periodically reviews export prices for petroleum products.
