Power supply restored in Dunai, Dolpa

Power supply was cut off in Dunai and its vicinity after a landslide damaged the canal of Jairigadh Hydropower project. On September 4, the hydropower project’s canal was swept away by the landslide.
Kali Bahadur Mahat, officiating chief of the Nepal Electricity Council in Dolpa, said they have started supplying electricity after repairing the damaged canal parts.
Locals were compelled to use petrol and solar panels to generate electricity during the power outage.
Nischal Bhandari, a local businessman, said residents of Dunai are relieved after power supply was restored.
“We can operate photocopy printers and other equipment in Dunai now,” he added.
