A Nepali man, serving his time in a UK jail for breaching immigration law, is being deported.
Ramesh Thapa was arrested for using fake documents to extend his visa.
He has been languishing in the Preston Jail in Lancashire, England for the past 80 days.
A permanent resident of Bhorletar-8, Lamjung, Thapa had filed an application to extend his visa pretending himself as a Bhutanese refugee, according to Chargé d'Affaires at the Nepali embassy in London Sharad Raj Aran.
Aran said that Thapa had already completed jail term and urged the Home Office to send him back to Nepal at the earliest.
“Thapa will probably return home after Easter holidays in two weeks,” he informed.
Earlier, Thapa’s father Bal Bahadur had filed an application at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nepal to rescue his son from the London jail.
