An indefinite banda called by various groups in Sunsari has entered the 13th day on Thursday. Banda has thrown the normal life out of gear. The life of people is depicted in the pictures during the course of visit around Biratnagar from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday.
People have been hit hard in various ways while there is a shortage of essentials in some areas of the district, worsening the situation.
Although there are few vehicles in operation, people are spending their days playing carroms infront of shops and homes.
Sabina Khatun, a local, said she usually buys essentials once for a month and that daily essentials are in short supply as the market remained shut due to the ongoing shutdown.
