Financial help for the construction was sought from Magsaysay Award-winning eye surgeon Dr Sanduk Ruit, board member of Nepal Eye Hospital Rabi KC and others from Nepal and abroad. The team, which had reached the area three days after the Great Earthquake for relief distribution, had decided to build the house, according to Ruit.
At least Rs16,000 each has been invested to build the homes for the victims.
Sixty-five houses were handed over on Saturday while the rest are under construction.
Eight people lost their lives to the Great Earthquake in the area which has a population of 323.
