Dengue cases cross 2000-mark in Chitwan

The number of dengue infection cases has crossed 2,000 in Chitwan, the District Health Office Chitwan said.
According to the health office, of the 8,853 samples tested for dengue in the district, 2,164 samples tested dengue positive till October 27. Three people have died from dengue in Chitwan district since the beginning of this fiscal year, the District Health Office said.
The health office informed that 1,451 people among the positive cases are residents of Chitwan district while the remaining 454 dengue patients are from outside districts and the addresses of 259 patients are yet to be ascertained.
Among the 1,451 cases, 822 are male and 629 are female, the health office said.
Among the seven local levels in the district, the highest number of cases have been found in Bharatpur Metropolitan City with 978 confirmed infections that include 559 males and 419 females.
The District Health Office said that 197 dengue infections have been recorded in Ratnanagar, 124 in Khairahani Municipality, 79 in Rapti, 37 in Kalika, and 28 in Madi municipalities. Likewise, eight people have contracted the disease in Icchakamana Rural Municipality.
