Gorkha
A leopard was found dead in the Thulo Pandhera community forest in ward 1 of Palungtar Municipality on Thursday evening. Locals alerted the division forest office in Gorkha after discovering the animal’s body.
The office collected the dead leopard for a post-mortem on Friday, according to Madan Mohan Shandilya, head of the office.
Initial investigations suggest the leopard may have been attacked by another one. “Much remains to be studied, but the injuries on the body suggest it may have been attacked by a larger leopard,” he said. “We disposed of the body after the post-mortem this morning. Further details will emerge once the report is received.”
The leopard is estimated to be between five and seven months old.
