Beni Municipality in Myagdi has decided to impose a ban on hookah smoking and its sales within its jurisdiction.
Stating that smoking of tobacco hookah harms public health, the municipality decided to ban hookah smoking from February 28.
“We are compelled to ban hookah smoking as it causes serious health problems, and nicotine addiction in youths. The municipality will strictly carry out market monitoring and take strong action if anyone is found consuming or selling hookahs,” said Mayor Surat KC.
