A musical concert where artists performed while rafting was held near Fishling on the Trishuli River on Sunday, March 5. The concert, the first of its kind held in Nepal, featured singer Dhiraj Rai, Manisha Pokhrel, Bijay Lama, among others, who sang over 30 songs during their journey from Dharechowk in Chitwan to Kurintar in inflatable rafts.
The concert was organised by Nepal Association of Rafting (NARA), in collaboration with Nepal Kadhya Bank and Save Trisuli programme, with an aim to raise awareness about river cleanliness and environmental conservation. The concert was attended by more than 150 viewers and lasted nearly three hours.
Speaking to the Post, singer Dhiraj Rai said, “All of us were driven by a goal: To promote Nepal’s tourism and spread the message about Nepal now being safe to travel. And that accompanied with music was a great ride.” He also urged the public to pay serious attention to the environment and to come together to preserve nature.
Meanwhile, one of the activists of the Save Trisuli programme, Shrawan Tripathi, said: “This is probably the first time a concert of this kind is being held anywhere in the world. It was inspired by our goal to draw attention towards river cleanliness and nature preservation.”
