“Challenging the traditional notion that regards only the paintings or sculptures as art, many different dimension of art has been on the rise. To blur the line between life and the art, an eccentric wing of art had developed since the 1960’s, which now is known as performance art. In it the life of the artist itself becomes a medium of expression,” said artist Jyoti Hamal.
“The subject of most of the performance artists range from the day-to-day life to social, political and philosophical concepts. During the process of performance arts, artist are also found torturing themselves—cutting or piercing their own body parts,” said Nagen Singh of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. “The exhibition set to be held is sure to awe the audience and to inspire the audience to think about the aims the exhibition wants to attain.” he added.
