Nepathya has started its 2025 America tour with a folk-rock performance in Austin, Texas. The concert began at 9 pm on Saturday at the Emo’s concert hall.
The band performed their newly released song, ‘Karnali ka Chhaila,’ for the first time during this concert. Following this performance, the song became publicly available on YouTube. Until then, fans had been paying to listen to the music for a week.
The doors to Emo’s hall opened at 8 pm local time. An hour later, the songs ‘Sa Karnali’ and ‘Siran Ma Photo Chha’ played on screen, building excitement before the band took the stage with ‘Koshiko Pani’.
“It felt like I was back in Nepal,” said Shishira Shrestha, who had driven one and a half hours from San Antonio.
The band arrived in Texas last week to perform in seven American cities. This was Nepathya’s first performance in Austin, although they had previously performed twice in Dallas.
This is the band’s seventh US tour, planned for over a month. Throughout Saturday’s performance, lead singer Amrit Gurung spoke passionately about preserving Nepali identity and encouraged fans to explore Nepal. He mentioned that many of his songs were inspired by his travels on foot through Nepali villages.
The band will travel from southern Texas to northern Washington, near the Canadian border, for their second performance. They are scheduled to perform at the Moore Theatre in Seattle on May 23.
