Rotaract Club of Kathmandu celebrates 29th installation ceremony

The Rotaract Club of Kathmandu, one of Nepal’s leading Rotaract Clubs dedicated to youth empowerment and community service for the past 28 years, held its 29th Installation Ceremony on Sunday at Rotary Hall, Thapathali.
During the event, outgoing president Rtr Ajay Yadav handed over the presidency to incoming president Rtr Kritika Dahal, who will lead the club as the 31st president.
200 attendees, representing various Rotaract Clubs, civil society organisations, and Rotary Club members, participated in the ceremony.
During the event, the outgoing secretary for Rotary Year 2023-24, Rtr Suman Dangol, presented an overview of the club’s activities. He noted that the Rotaract Club of Kathmandu conducted 61 projects in Rotary Year 2023-24, covering community service, professional development, international service, and promoting fellowship and goodwill among youth.
Their community service projects reached 37 schools, involved 31,272.5 volunteer hours, and benefited over 2,600 individuals across the country. Additionally, the club executed international projects with 139 Rotaract Clubs in 26 countries.
They collaborated with 26 organisations beyond Rotaract, including key partners such as WWF Nepal, Save the Children Nepal, FAO, Rotary International, UNESCO, and Youthive Nepal.
In his closing speech, outgoing President Rtr Ajay Yadav stated, “All those micro-projects which we do as part of the Rotaract Clubs help an individual know more about themselves, grow personally and professionally, and most importantly, make them feel part of the community and its development. This is all part of creating a responsible youth force.”
He invited the civil society organisations present at the event for future collaborations.
During the event, key performing members of the Rotaract Club of Kathmandu who showcased leadership and volunteering spirit were awarded.
Rtr Anish Shrestha received the Most Active Member Award, Rtr Pragya Karki was honoured with the Presidential Recognition Award, and Rtr Suman Dangol received the President’s Award for Inspiring Hope and Unity.
