Post Report
The National Music Awards 2081, organised by Radio Kantipur, is scheduled for July 12 at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Centre. Featuring 15 award categories and 10 major performances, the event promises to be a grand celebration of Nepal’s vibrant and evolving music scene.
Popular figures such as Swoopna Suman, Durgesh Thapa, Asmita Adhikari, Eleena Chauhan, Pashupati Sharma, Kuma Sagar, Sushant Ghimire, and Wangden Sherpa will perform live musical acts. Cartoonz Crew and the dynamic duo Sundar Khanal and Suzta Shrestha, will also energise the stage with dance performances.
Adhikari will pay tribute to Shambhujeet Baskota during the event. She reflected on her Best Playback Singer win for her song ‘Babari Rang Ma’ in 2021 and said returning to the National Music Awards stage is an honour.
Thapa, too, is gearing up for something big. “Every time, it’s a surprise for the audience—and this time too. Our performance will be spontaneous and extraordinary,” he said. “The National Music Award is a big platform, and the organisers have made no compromises in their effort, and for that, I want to thank the Kantipur Media Group. Not just me, but my entire team is grateful for this opportunity.”

He hinted that the audience can expect a thrilling act this year.
Chauhan, who is also performing, is excited about the event. She says, “Many respected figures will be present, and I’m thrilled to be performing in a programme featuring such esteemed artists.”
While performing regularly is part of her routine as an artist, she regards this opportunity as special and looks forward to delivering her performance.
The venue will open to the public at noon, and the programme will commence at 2 pm. Food courts will be available on-site for attendees. Tickets are Rs1,500 and are available online via eSewa.
The event is being organised in partnership with Red Bull, Sanima Bank, and Honda and is supported by several sponsors, including Reliable Life Insurance, Sanima Reliance Life Insurance, Nyano, Rathicol, Nepato5, and DAV College.
