Balgopaleshwar Temple in the centre of Rani Pokhari opened to the public on Thursday for Bhaitika. The temple is considered a special destination for those who do not have siblings.
Municipality officials have arranged for devotees to offer prayers and receive tika throughout the day.
Nepalis across the country are marking Bhaitika, the final day of Tihar, when sisters place coloured tika on their brothers and wish for their good health and long life.
