The 303rd Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day, marking the birth anniversary of late King Prithvi Narayan Shah, was commemorated on Saturday with various events across the country. As part of the celebrations, President Ramchandra Paudel garlanded the statue of King Prithvi Narayan Shah located at the main gate of Singha Durbar in Kathmandu.
President Paudel paid his respects by offering a floral tribute to the statue, acknowledging the legacy of the unifier of Nepal. The event, held at the site of the statue, was accompanied by a ceremonial guard of honour presented by the Nepali Army.
Also, leaders and the general public attended various functions organised by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and RPP-Nepal in the capital city.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly chair Narayan Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, among others, attended the events.
