The sixteen-day ritual of Sohra Shraddha, a traditional ceremony performed in memory of deceased ancestors, begins today.
Starting on the first day of the dark fortnight of Asoj, this ritual is observed until the new moon, known as Asoj Krishna Aunsi.
During this period, families honour their ancestors by performing various rites such as tarpan (offering water), sidadan (offering food), and pindadan (offering rice balls).
