Indra Jatra concluded on Tuesday, with women pulling the chariots of Ganesh, Bhairav, and Kumari through Kathmandu’s Basantapur Durbar Square on the festival's final day.

Accompanied by traditional music, the chariots were taken around the designated route as part of ‘Nanicha Yah’, the procession held on the final day. From Basantapur, the chariots were pulled through Pyaphal, Naradevi, Kilagal, Asan, Indra Chowk and Makhan before returning to Basantapur.

After the chariots returned to Basantapur, one of the main rituals of Indra Jatra, the lowering of the ceremonial pole erected with the Indra flag, was performed.

The festival formally concluded after the pole was brought down and taken to the Bagmati river for immersion on Tuesday night.
