Thousands of Hindu women have thronged the Pashupatinath temple on Monday to worship Lord Shiva on the occasion of Haritalika Teej.

Decked in red saris and kurtas and adorned with all sorts of ornaments, women from different age groups entered the temple premises early morning.

Hindu women celebrate the festival across the country, to share the message of sisterhood by gathering at their parental home, indulging in jubilant dancing and singing. Starting with an early morning bath, women celebrate the festival by paying homage to Lord Shiva by lighting lamps and with fasting.
