After the Department of Transport Management made embossed number plates compulsory starting July 17 for vehicles operating in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, a large number of service seekers have started flocking to different Transportation Management Offices.

The vehicles that do not comply will be penalised under the Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 2049 (1993). Embossed number plates will be mandated in all provinces, except Province 1 for it is yet to be named, from November 17.

Hundreds of people have gathered in different Transportation Offices including Ekantakuna, Gurjudhara and in Pokhara of Gandaki Province for embossed number plates.
