Farmers across the country celebrated National Paddy Day (Dhan Diwas) on Tuesday. The day falls on the 15th day of the Nepali month of Asar every year and is considered an auspicious day to mark the beginning of the plantation season.
The day is filled with revelry, traditional music, dance, and food which primarily consists of beaten rice served with curd.
