Leaders and members of the Civil Society on Friday organised a march-past to protest against the appointment of office bearers to various constitutional bodies.
The protesters termed the appointment of 32 individuals to various constitutional bodies, including the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and the National Human Rights Commission, as being against the norms of the constitution.
Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, one of the members of the Council Council, on Wednesday administered the oath of office and secrecy to the appointees at Sheetal Niwas in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
The march started at Lainchaur and was heading towards the Office of the President in Maharjgunj. However, police stopped the demonstrators at Panipokhari.
