The nationwide lockdown which began on March 24 has not only affected the people but animals too.
As the movement of people has ceased across the country, religious sites also have worn a deserted look.
At Pashupatinath Temple, which used to see thousands of devotees every day, hardly has any visitor these days. With no visitors, the macaques that wander around the temple and pigeons are struggling to get food.
The Pashupati Area Development Trust, in assistance from volunteers and the local people, hence took initiatives to feed the primates and birds at the temple.
The Post’s Hemanta Shrestha took some pictures on Monday.
