Bhattarai is a young politician who contested the 2017 federal elections from Kathmandu constituency number 7. Besides her active involvement in politics, she also teaches politics and gender studies at Nepal Open University and Thames College.
In this interview, Bhattarai discusses alternative forces, why these forces are increasingly right wing, the evolving understanding of the decade-long Maoist insurgency, the aspirations of Nepali youths, her experience as a woman politician, and Nepali political culture in general.
