Local authorities urge residents to celebrate Holi decently
Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur administrations warn against unruly behaviour.
Post Report
Local authorities in all three districts of Kathmandu Valley—Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur—have urged residents to celebrate Holi disciplined and respectfully.
Kathmandu’s Assistant Chief District Officer Anil Paudel called for a peaceful celebration, warning against rowdy and disruptive behaviour.
Issuing a notice on Tuesday, Paudel urged people to refrain from causing disturbances in public peace and order by creating noise, engaging in fights, consuming alcohol in a way that disrupts social harmony, and throwing colours or water on individuals without their consent.
The authorities in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur issued separate notices on Tuesday, calling for a peaceful and culturally appropriate celebration of Holi.
The festival will be observed in the hills on Thursday and in the Tarai on Friday.
